Stephanie, from the blog the p'titefourchette is our blogger in residence for the season and will share with us her culinary secrets to keep fit at work!
Are you the kind of person who gets up at the last minute or who doesn't have much time for breakfast in the morning? Or someone who is not hungry when they wake up in the morning? I have several solutions that will make you start the day off on the right foot with a healthy meal, quick to cook. I am a great "fan" of simplicity in the kitchen. I love anything that comes together quickly and allows me to use what I already have at home. And above all, what I cook must be good. And that's what I'm proposing! I'll share five ideas for lunches you'll like. The whole family will want it!!
1.Gruau in a Masson pot
As a first recipe, I propose a reinvented way to prepare oatmeal. This lunch, which is prepared the day before in just a few minutes, is a great way to have a healthy meal when you wake up in the morning. Oatmeal is eaten cold with fresh fruit, chia seeds and yogurt. The principle for the recipe is always the same and we adjust according to the ingredients in our fridge.
Here is the recipe for 1 serving:
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) oatmeal (oatmeal)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Greek yogurt of the flavor of your choice
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) chia seeds
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh or frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate the mixture overnight. In the morning, you can add strawberries on top and enjoy!!
2.Bcan of chocolate breakfast cereal
The homemade cereal bar is a great breakfast that is prepared in advance! The recipe I suggest is easy to cook, contains few ingredients and does not require cooking. It cooks with ingredients you probably have at home. Personally, I add dark chocolate on top for its antioxidant properties and taste! The recipe is so good that you'll want to eat it every day.

When you have a day off, I suggest you take the opportunity to cook some muffin flavours and put them in the freezer for the times you're in a hurry. Muffins are prepared quickly and they freeze well. It's a perfect lunch for the mornings in a hurry. We take it out of the freezer, let it thaw at room temperature or in the microwave and have a great home-cooked lunch. For the occasion, I share with you my recipe for cranberry and orange muffins and banana, walnut and maple muffins. You're going to love it!!
A smoothie can be a great lunch, provided you add a source of protein that will support us for a few hours. A good amount of fruit, a liquid ingredient of your choice and a source of protein will make a healthy breakfast. Here are some protein sources you can add to your favorite smoothie:
- Protein powder
- Flax or chia seeds
- Raw oatmeal (oatmeal)
- Nut butter (peanuts, almonds, etc.)
Your smoothie is prepared quickly in the morning as long as your ingredients are accessible and your fruits already cut. Otherwise, prepare your smoothie the day before, pour it into an airtight jar that you will keep in the fridge and mix it well before eating it. It will be as good as if you had prepared it that morning. It's good to drink while driving, too!
Here are some easy smoothie ideas:
- Mango, pineapple, silky tofu and milk
- Banana, peanut butter and milk
- Strawberries, bananas, oats and almond drink
- Raspberries, Greek yogurt and milk
If you hate cooking and you don't like the idea of making a recipe, I
offers you some lunch ideas that don't require
Preparation. When you don't have anything ready, here's what can make a good
lunch on the go:
- Fresh fruit, cheese or nuts
- Commercial granola, yogurt and fresh fruit
- Yogurt, fresh fruit and chia seeds
- Cooked oatmeal (oatmeal), yogurt and fresh fruit
You pour the ingredients into a dish, mix them (if necessary) and enjoy an excellent quick lunch!
The 5 quick lunch ideas will save you a lot of time. Many prepare in advance while others cook well in the morning. The recipes are simple, fast and above all, they are delicious. You and your family will definitely adopt!!
What's your favorite lunch on the go?
